RTA - Form 13 Notice of Intention to Leave

If you intend to vacate your rented premises there are forms you must complete. Depending on the expiry of your lease will determine the amount of notice you are required to give.

To end a fixed term agreement you are required to submit the RTA Form 13 with a minimum of 14 days prior to the date you intend to vacate (not included date form is submitted on).

To end your tenancy agreement sooner then the lease end date, you are required to continue pay rent up until the lease end date or until a suitable tenant is found which ever is the sooner. You will also be responsible for reimbursement to the lessor for all costs incurred due the break of lease; this is usually equivalent to one weeks rent plus GST.
