The infiltration of interstate migrants moving into Brisbane has helped the capital city's auction culture grow. This is as the interstate residents are more familiar with auctions because of their popularity, particularly in Sydney and Melbourne.

According to The Real Estate Conversation, another factor is an increase of  interest and understanding about auctions in Queensland as a whole as the result of TV shows like the Block along with online media.

An increase in auctions being held in Brisbane has also resulted in more people coming into contact with them on a regular basis.

Auctions were once used to sell properties in strong and weak market conditions, these days they are popular in the in-between market as well as more people recognise their power as a tool for shortening days on market and avoiding pricing mistakes.

According to The Real Esate Conversation, regardless of the property price, these two factors do not change.

As people identify that it is not just a sales method for outlying or unique properties, auction numbers in Brisbane are on the rise.

Education within buyers is also increasing as they read about real estate online and watch auctions live on the web.

While it may have been common in the past to show up to an auction and hope for the best, buyers are now choosing to upskill on auctions to increase their chances of buying property on the day.
