Party season is well and truly upon us! And we all know that a great party takes planning and a great deal of effort in the lead-up. But just as important is that you have can enjoy the event just as much as your guests. Here’s how to manage the long list of tasks without losing your head.

Plan ahead

Will it be a seated dinner or a casual barbie? Work this out prior to sending the invites so that everyone understands what to expect. It will also help you in making decisions to the lead-up to the party.

Stick to your lists!

Writing lists might sound tedious, but it really can help save from confusion later. This will help you to keep a clear head and keep track of everything. That said, don’t continuously add things to your lists as the event nears, this will just make it all too overwhelming.

Share the load

Don’t say no when someone offers to bring a plate. You might have the best cob loaf in town, but if someone else is willing to take a small load off your plate, take that opportunity! Getting everyone involved cannot only help to ensure that you aren’t overwhelmed but it also everyone feels more welcome into your space.

Buy non-perishables ahead of time

Save yourself from one huge shopping trip the day prior to the event and buy non-perishables in the lead-up. Just store the items in your pantry and your one step closer to being organised for your guests. Items you might buy ahead of time include soft drinks, jarred goods and chips.

Take time to clear and clean

A clear head can be just as important as a clear bench. Block off some time the weekend prior to not only tidy your house and complete your list of chores but also relax and get into the partying mood!
Remember, you’re planning this event for yourself just as much as you are for your loved ones – so enjoy!
