Despite being the first state to begin easing lockdown restrictions, Queensland’s real estate market is still continuing to operate its home inspections and auctions online, or private appointments for inspection.

Private appointments for inspections are for six people including the real estate agent, with no more than one person per four square metres.

As of midnight Friday 1 May, Queenslanders have been able to leave their homes for recreation, with an extension on the distance they can travel, but outings are limited to members of a household or with one friend.

The state government is now allowing residents to:

  • Go for a drive;
  • Travel up to 50 kilometres from home;
  • Ride a motorbike, jetski or boat for pleasure;
  • Have a picnic;
  • Visit a national park; and
  • Shop for non-essential items

Social distancing and hygiene practices must be maintained, and the measures will continue to be reviewed.
